what is poetry?

Poetry is like the flow of peaceful stream
It is a kite flying in the wind
A child running wildly and free

Poetry is the sound of a bird
On a cool spring morning
Chirping a song so beautifully

Poetry is like the breeze blowing through the trees
So calm and peaceful
It is like clouds, moseying slowly on their way

Poetry is a light in the darkness
It lets you in on the deepest of thoughts
And biggest of truths

Poetry is a fragment of words
Creating a rhythm and sometimes a rhyme
A show of emotion

Poetry is what you make it
Words from you heart and soul

this is my first try at writing English poetry… i don’t know much about the way English poetry is written.. it was the inner impulse which pushed me to write. so read and comment, how successful i have been.
